About
Welcome to Gallo Grigio Pizzeria, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Located at Av. da Republica 357, 4430-199, this pizzeria captures the essence of Italian cuisine with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a destination that promises to tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more.
As food reviewers at Foodjoyy, we are particularly fond of the diverse appetizer selection. Start your meal with the delightful Pãezinhos de alho (garlic bread) which comes in various iterations, including the decadent version topped with cheese and pepperoni. The simplicity of artisanal bread combined with fresh garlic and quality ingredients creates a comforting start to your dining experience. For something more adventurous, the Provolone served with ham is a buttery, gooey delight that pairs beautifully with crusty bread.
Moving on to the pizza menu, Gallo Grigio truly shines. The Marinara, featuring Italian tomato sauce, garlic, and herbs, lays the foundation for some of the best pies you'll ever taste, all for just €8.90. However, the piece de resistance is undoubtedly the Gallo Supreme. This pizza is a harmonious blend of mozzarella, chicken, and a rich tapestry of flavors including bacon, black olives, and aromatic basil. Priced at €16.40, it's a must-try for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted pizza experience.
Don't overlook the Carbonara option either, which comes loaded with creamy sauce and a generous touch of bacon—making for a savory, satisfying slice that's hard to match. Each bite of Gallo Grigio's offerings reflects dedication to quality and an understanding of what the palate desires.
As you're savoring the remarkable flavors here, take a moment to absorb the ambiance. The rustic décor and friendly staff enhance the inviting atmosphere, making every visit feel like a homecoming. Whether you're enjoying a casual meal with friends or a cozy dinner for two, Gallo Grigio Pizzeria encapsulates the heart of Italian dining.

“ The pizza is really delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is nice ”
“ Fresh Neapolitan pizza from the huge red oven. First slice is delicious and with every slice it tastes even better. Highly recommended. Very kind stuff and the space inside is comfier than you would expect from the outside. Take away optional. ”
“ Overall was good, but not a 5star place. Pizza tastes good, the hot dog not so much. If you are in the area and looking for a place to eat, or want to order to eat at the park across the street while watching the sunset, then this is your place. Otherwise I wouldn’t recommend travelling to eat at this place. There are better choices in Porto. ”
“ Perfect pizza , hot dogs that I had never eaten before and even fries better than on any fastfood. I recommend it to all. Nice , clean place. I like it on here. ”
“ The high level bridge across the river was already closed to foot traffic at 2pm so that the São João fireworks could be installed. Madge realised we could use the tram from São Bento rather than go down and up. Thus we walked past this pizza restaurant from General Torres stop. Drinks only customers are welcome on the front terrace. Good service. Ic and Flic still on Super Bock. Paulicarus on Ruby Port. Great service. The São João madness still a few hours away. ”
“ Fantastic restaurant! Menu in Portuguese & English. Counter service with inside & outside seating. Very nice staff and excellent food. Hot dog was AMAZING Definite must-go for any local or tourist! ”
“ We had been walking round Porto in the heat and found this place - filled us up and sent us on our way! Incredible pizza, and excellent service, they even gave us history of their ethos - good food is eaten with hands! Also tried a really nice dry Portuguese cider recommend if you like something different. ”
